Scarlet Salvia

Scarlet salvia also known as Scarlet sage is an upright, clump-forming plant known for its vibrant scarlet-red, bell-shaped flowers that bloom from summer to fall and attract pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. It is a low-maintenance plant that thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and while often grown as an annual in cooler climates.

Scarlet salvia is generally considered non-toxic to humans. However, the flowers of Salvia coccinea should not be eaten. Other edible varieties of the Salvia genus (e.g., common sage, Salvia officinalis) are consumed in cooking.
